Are kids being taught about debt / budgeting in school nowadays?
Dick J asked:
When I was a kid, the only “financial” stuff I got was that in 7th grade, we learned about writing checks and business terms such as “overhead”. However, with the subprime loan crisis, it seems that schools should have taught more about budgeting and debt and less about the “war on drugs”. I know that it’s a parent’s responsibility to talk about this stuff, but if the govt can take time preach about drugs, shouldn’t also talk about budgeting?
