Advice on what kind of guitar to get?
Brian asked:
I’ve been saving for awhile now and I think it’s about time to finally get myself a somewhat decent electric guitar. I’m really looking for something that would be good for alternative rock, and funk. However I enjoy playing many other genres as well, so I would like it to be a pretty versatile guitar. My budget is anywhere from $500 to $700. Advice?

3 Q’s: Different sounding violin music, also need advice from musician?
=( asked:
I’ve noticed that there seems to be two different violin sounds. One sounds sort of softer and higher pitched, and has a very “touching” type quality to it. The other seems a little harsher on the ears, lower pitched, and usually is played a little more energetically. Are they from the same instrument, or are they from different types of violins?

I was also wondering how hard it is to learn to play the violin by yourself (maybe with some online tutorials), and is there is any way to get a decent one on an extremely limited budget?

I’m in the market for a good hollow or semi-hollow jazz electric guitar. Some advice?

I don’t know what are the best brands, but my budget is between $400 and $600. I know a really good one would probably be in the the thousands, but that’s too much for me right now. Do you know any good brands? What’s the best one to get? Which will last me the longest? Where can I find the best prices?
