She wants to see everything: Pisa, Venice, Florence, Milan, Rome, Tuscany, etc. Any suggestions on where to stay (on a budget), how to get around, where to eat, where to go? Any advice you can give would be very helpful. We are flying from Houston, and not sure where to fly into yet.

I’ve noticed that there seems to be two different violin sounds. One sounds sort of softer and higher pitched, and has a very “touching” type quality to it. The other seems a little harsher on the ears, lower pitched, and usually is played a little more energetically. Are they from the same instrument, or are they from different types of violins?

I was also wondering how hard it is to learn to play the violin by yourself (maybe with some online tutorials), and is there is any way to get a decent one on an extremely limited budget?
