I need some advice on what type of vacuum cleaner to buy?
Here’s what my needs and criteria are:
I’m very arthritic and so need the lightest weight v.c. possible that will do the job. We are on two floors also, so I will need to carry it up and down the stairs.
I have three indoor cats, one with long hair. They are brushed every morning but it’s still a battle.
I have one large rug in particular under my dining table that is the type of dense pile that attracts cat hair and holds onto it like super glue. So I need something powerful enough to **** up the cat hair from that.
I’m on a budget and really do not want to spend more than $500.00 tops.
Thanks in advance everyone!

any advice on a budget holiday in chamonix?
Me and three cousins are looking to spend a week or so in chamonix. We are happy to share rooms, find our own meals, only ski 1-2 days, and get there the cheapest way (whether it be train, plain, car etc.) from the south coast of england. Ideally we would spend around £1000 each at most. Thanks!
I am OBSESSED with the alps…. reponds en francais si c’est ton truc.

basic european travel advice?
I have some questions about my trip. Some basic information: I will be traveling with my boyfriend. Our dates are flexible but we would prefer to travel near the end of summer. We don’t have a set budget right now because we’re trying to gauge how much money we will need for this trip. Any type of budgeting/financial advice would be very welcomed and helpful.
First and foremost, does this trip seem realistic? Have I given enough days to each city? Are there any changes you would make to this trip based on past experience? Are there any specific things we should do or places we should see in each of our cities?
Transportation: Would you suggest getting a eurail pass? If so, which youth pass would you recommend? I was thinking of either the 10 or 15 day flexi-pass. Will this work for the trip I have planned?
Hostels: Should I book the hostels in advance or will it be easier to just find a hostel when i arrive? I’m also wondering if you would suggest we get international student id or hostel membership cards? If so, which do you suggest?
I think that’s all I’ve got right now, but please please please feel free to provide me with any advice/information you have based on your past experiences. Thanks so much in advance and I hope to hear from some of you soon!
i just realized that i didn’t add the details of my trip!

Advice or good references for creating sewing patterns, rather than buying them? Please help?
I am learning how to sew, and I wanted to learn how to create sewing patterns rather than buy them or alter ready-made ones. I was hoping to find a good book or website to show me the step-by-step process. Also, some tips or advice would be nice. Thank you!
Also, please keep in mind that I have a pretty tight budget, and am not willing to buy the most expensive books out there. Thanks. =D
