lithium630 asked:

I would like a program that lets you divide your money into categories before bills are paid, so there is money available for each bill. ( I know quicken and money let you pick categories after you enter each bill, thats not what I need)

Personal Budgeting?

alishatravis asked:

OK so i just downloaded a tool to help start a budget for me and my husband i want to stop working and stay home with our 7 month old baby. According to the tool after everything is paid for the month we will have 24% of our monthly income left over. which is about 550 dollars. I am curious if you think that im being selfish or if maybe that isnt enough of left over money at the end of the month? In my budget i included food, gas, credit cards, rent, utilities, household items ect.. so that 24% is really extra money. My husband is freaking out and i think hes overreacting, please let me know what you think and if there are guidelines you should follow when setting up a budget

thanks in advance

What have you found to be the best way to make a personal budget and make it work?

mediamanmail asked:

I’m using MSMoney. It’s a great tool but time consuming. What has worked for you? How did you make it easy enough that the whole family was able to participate?
I make a very good salary and have a fantastic career, but still find that we are living paycheck to paycheck.
Any advice would be great.

What do I need to become a personal budget consultant?

personal budgeting
PJPurpleLover asked:

I have been doing lots of research trying to find out if there are any certification requirements to become a personal budget consultant. I know Financial Planners need certification generally, but they tend to offer services like insurance, estate planning, and other things that I wouldn’t be offering. I would focus on setting people up with a budget and helping them maintain the budget.

Thanks
I suppose I should mention my location, since that may influence the answer. I live in the state of Texas in the US.

Hey Guys,

Me and my wife has been married for almost a year now and we feel that we need to have some kind of budgeting in our life. Both of us has no experience with this and now its getting tougher and tougher to track money. I have asked people but not sure which method to. follow. I googled for help but information is over whelming.

- So does all you married couple out there do budgeting ?
- Do you do weekly or monthly budgeting?
- How do you track of receipts i.e. grocery, cloths etc.
- Do you set some money aside for vacation ?
- Do using by any tools i.e. Microsoft Money help ?

Please share your personal experience and how you first started budgeting ?

Thanks
